Snake Creek Trail

Like it but...

January, 2019 by npolanco103

First and foremost I would like to thank the employees responsible for maintaining the Snake Creek Trail.
One of the best exercises we can do as retirees is walking and I try to do as much as possible. It’s all good until we reach Miami Gardens Dr (183 St) the routine is to walk along side the bridge and return on the other side of the canal; that is the part that makes me cringe. The bridge does not have a protective barrier between traffic and pedestrian/bike rider. If a driver were to get distracted there is absolutely nothing in the way between him and me. Maybe it wouldn’t matter but then maybe it would .
If this is a legitimate concern and it’s not your pervue then who?
I took pictures of what I mean but I’m a newby here can’t see how to send.

Cypress Creek Greenway

East of Fern Forest Park

January, 2019 by normanbowers

The trail east of Fern Forest Park to the beach is really a sidewalk. The sidewalk is just 5 ft. wide but not much pedestrian or bike traffic. It is well signed except along Atlantic Blvd. Atlantic Blvd. is busy , so I took the streets one and two blocks north of Atlantic, very little traffic. Restrooms and water at the beach, but no other place on this section of trail.

Cypress Creek Greenway

Borderline Boring

January, 2019 by rwjoslyn

I enjoyed riding on the trail despite having to cross busy roads. There are pedestrian cross walks, though, and for the most part the motorists yielded to the bikers and walkers as they should.

I did find the trail rather boring as far as the scenery. And what can we say about those unkempt backyards full of debris/trash? But as far as the actual concrete trail goes, I found it to be very accommodating to both cyclists and pedestrians.

I would ride the trail again!

Glades Road Path

Beautiful urban trail but currently lots of construction along the path at the I-95 junction and west of Military almost all the way to 441.

Cypress Creek Greenway

Connecting Greenways?

November, 2018 by drjanajaffe

We took the trail at Markham Park (Sawgrass) yesterday to Hiatus and was hoping t pick up Plantation to Cypress Greenway. However, we need to turn around as the sun was beginning to set and didn’t want to ride in the dark. We live right near Fern Forest (Cypress Greenway). We are hoping to take Cypress Greenway to Plantation/Hiatus Greenway and then to New River Greenway. Hoping that works for a great ride that we plan to do often. I’ll revise and let you know.

El Rio Trail

Trail is complete

July, 2018 by rlautar_tl

All the sections of the trail are completed, the new section under Yamato Road is really nicely done and it makes the whole experience so much safer. I used to ride only the South half of the trail because of the busy Yamato Road crossing but now I see lots of people taking advantage of the full trail, including families with young riders. I like to ride El Rio when I don't want to deal with auto traffic and now I can enjoy a longer ride.

Hiatus Road Greenway

Nice Trail

July, 2018 by sequirah

For a city trail, this one is pretty good. I rode it on 7/22/18 .At first the scenery is just so-so but after the crossing at Oakland Park Blvd. it improves a lot. Very clean, with trees along the way if you need a break from the sun. Lots of large iguanas along the canal on the left going south, and there's no shortage of ducks. Some upscale homes to see on the right. The pavement is very smooth, very tight seams... you don't feel them at all. This is Florida, flat as a pancake... you won't get beautiful mountain scenery or anything like that, so my rating takes into consideration that this is a trail running through populated areas. The trail was not very heavily trafficked though. Very nice, all things considered.

Martin County US Route 1 Sidepath

Sidepath review

May, 2018 by mtballas45

As per previous review, basically a large sidewalk along US 1. But to the west there is some wild vegetation especially on the north end along the park. Staying at a hotel (Jupiter Waterfront Inn) on the south end of trail so was nice to be able to pick up the trail within feet of the hotel and not have to run on US 1!

El Rio Trail

Trail 95 percent completed ( just my opinion)

April, 2018 by jenrichard27

Hi I just biked the trail today and the segment at Yamato and near trirail that wasn’t completed - as stated in previous posts- is very nearly completed. In fact , I biked it through the couple barrels that were there warning Not to pass. But it is paved. I passed fine. I assume it’s awaiting final inspection so that’s why it’s not officially open. But overall trail in general is smooth to bike on, and I enjoy the views along the way.

El Rio Trail

Beautiful and almost done!

March, 2018 by j.texley

Ride this trail every morning. On a warm day after a cool night, lots of birds and big iguanas north of Yamato. The Yamato crossing was precarious but by observation the tunnel under the road seems finished (still some barrels there on Mar 18). This will make the almost 5 mile run very nice. I'd park at Costco, go around the back and catch the beginning (north end).
