Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

Tater Trail

Great mix of woods & open areas. Trail is smooth & well maintained. Several bikers on the trail today. Surprised to discover Florida’s Potato Capital of Hastings.

Palatka-Lake Butler State Trail

Very Peaceful

February, 2019 by triedham

Started about 6 miles east of Roberts Lane trailhead. Parking available off Rt. 100. Rode west to Holloway, then north to Etoniah Creek forest entrance, then east and south on hard dirt road back to trail. Had lunch at the only picnic table or bench we came across on the whole ride.

West Orange Trail

Beautiful trail through a picturesque town

February, 2019 by byhazleton

We started our ride at the Killarney Station. There are rest rooms there as well as a place to rent bikes. We rode to Winter Park, which is about 5 miles, where we stopped at Crooked Can Brewery. There are many eateries there too. We continued our ride another 4 miles before heading back and enjoyed the varied scenery. Although the paths are paved and wide and primarily flat, there are a number of rolling hills that added to our workout. As we finished our 18-mile ride, this seemed more evident.

Shingle Creek Regional Trail (FL)

Nice trail with varied scenery

February, 2019 by byhazleton

We rode the trail in early February and were pleasantly surprised. We got a few extra miles by riding from our house to the Shingle Creek Regional Park - Steffee Landing. That would be a good starting point if you are driving. There is a tunnel that passes under Route 192. The trail is asphalt most of the way and is relatively flat and the trail is wide. The loop around Pioneer Village is packed dirt and is well maintained. There are many spurs around on this trail, each one offering something worth seeing.

Palatka-Lake Butler State Trail

February 2019 ride

February, 2019 by passagerider

Trail is flooded at the 22 mile marker (from the start point at Palatka) since Hurricane Irma in Oct 2018 . About 10-12 inches deep and 100 yards. Okay for a mountain bike IF you keep your speed up and don't worry about wet feet. But the grade there will need improvement by the state.

My wife and I rode from the Twin Lake Soccer field eastward to the flooded area and then westward back to route 100 at the 32 mile marker. 20 miles total. Enjoyed the ride very much. The trail overall is in great shape and very smooth. Low traffic and under utilized compared to the Baldwin trail. Great asset for the region.

Amelia Island Trail

Least Favorite

February, 2019 by jodwhite1959

My hubby and I ride rail trails every weekend. This is my least favorite as there are too many crossroads. Too much traffic. For me, it was NOT at all relaxing.

However, I loved that we started at the ocean and could relax sitting and walking on the beach after our ride in both ends of our ride.

Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail

The Best Trail Yet

Southern Glades Trail

Port City Trail

Nice trail in Port St. Joe

February, 2019 by sabercat

I use this trail often. It is a nice trail and goes through the backsides of nice neighborhoods. Very safe and 90% of the people walk their dogs on leashes. The trail extends from near the post office to out by the new hospital. Often used by runners, skateboarders and people on golf carts. One can vary the trail and see sites such as the Constitutional Museum or add a leg by riding in the bike lane to access the main "Old Town" shopping area and marina.

Black Creek Trail (Miami-Dade)

Lots of iguanas and ducks, signs that have crocodile on them and says do not feed wildlife, there should be some kind of fence. In 4.5 miles i saw only 3 cyclists.Wont be coming again as i dont like reptiles.

Palatka-Lake Butler State Trail

Nice Trail

January, 2019 by msteinberg

Nice trail. Smooth surface and wide. We went cycling after a few days of rain and wind, so the trail had a significant amount of debris on it (sycamore gumballs, branches, twigs etc.). We were on road bikes, so it wasn't the best day to cycle the trail. We look forward to cycling it again when pathway is clearer.

Pine Island Bike Path

Great Gumbo!

January, 2019 by nospamfortracy

We rode from St James to the middle of Pine Island. The trail was just okay. Nice cement sidewalk along side the highway. Not a lot to see. However, beyond the trail in St James we had the best seafood gumbo ever at The Waterfront Inn Restaurant and the Key Lime Pie was to die for!!
