Tweetsie Trail

Nice and Casual

June, 2018 by brokedown

Once you get out of the many street crossings the trail is very enjoyable. My wife and I rode it with our hybrids which was the perfect bike choice. The trail is wide and easy to navigate. Nice gradual climb from Elizabethton to Johnson City. The trail has that hard packed, sandy surface. That's the reason for four stars instead of five. I shouldn't be so picky. I plan to ride it again with some friends.

Started at Tillman around 8 and did the entire trail out and back. Amazing scenery and wonderful smells. Flowers in full bloom and the birds singing. Flat and easy, don’t miss the trail if your in the area.

Richland Creek Greenway

As Henry David Thureau once said - A walk a day keeps the Doc away!

To take my mind of the chaos of the world we live in, I walk the Richland Creek Greenway each and every afternoon. The scenic creek crossings and the meandering trails can put even the most-troubled minds at ease. The wide paths allow bikers, runners, walkers, dogs, children, and strollers to easily maneuver.

The trail really never have anyone there, so far this year I've seen more snakes than people and some were nice length. Nice park hate to see it go to waste

Peeler Park Greenway

Peeler park

Walk 2 or 3 times a week for years recently had a fall or the trail resulting in broken wrist, walking again and doing fine I love peeler park, very close to my home it's clean and I encourage everybody to own this space and pick up trash if necessary I just wonder if anything can be done about the lowlying areas that stay moist all the time , moss and algae are very slick and dangerous
A lot of older folks walk there and we want them including myself to be safe. Would love a response. Thanks for our wonderfful greenway Bridgette wakefield

Big River Crossing

Big River Awesome

Very much worth the short stop! We parked & unloaded at the trailhead on Channel 3 Drive by WREG where there was plenty of secure/safe parking. We rode across the bridge while stopping at the lookouts for pics of the MS River, tow boats, Memphis and the 100-year-old bridge. You will end up at a nice landing area on the AR side. Upon returning and reloading the bikes, we headed to Harbor Town/Mud Island to go exploring. We parked at the Middle Lot (the North Lot was a bit sketchy) & picnicked on the lawn watching the river. We got back on our bikes and rode the Mississippi River Greenbelt (the path parallel to Island Dr.) south to the entrance of Mud Island and back north to the new Downtown Wolf River Greenway at the confluence of the Wolf & MS Rivers. The new greenway takes you to the top the levee on one side and through “bottom land” on the opposite in an approx. 1-mile loop. Getting off the greenways, we spent the next couple of hours leisurely biking through the micro-neighborhoods of Harbor Town enjoying the residential architecture, friendly folks and views of the Wolf River Harbor and Pyramid. We truly enjoyed this relaxing spring ride over & on the banks of the MS River in Memphis.

Eureka Trail

great Trail

March, 2018 by thairq

I am visiting this area. Staying at the KOA campsite in Sweetwater. It's only 16 miles from there. So far this is a very clean Trail well maintained. One way in one way out you cannot get lost. this is beginning of March. There is a river running along the trail. It is very peaceful and calming.

Tennessee Central Heritage Rail Trail

Cookeville is a great town with lots of good scenery....but this trail shows little of it. Once you cross Washington and head east, everything is industrial.

Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail

Great trail

Love this trail. Several area with creek that is great for summer with pouch. They will walk a mile or so and get a cold dip. Also most of the trail is very shady. Cuts down on the summer heat about 10 degree.

Shelby Bottoms Greenway

One of the best in Nashville

December, 2017 by thairq

Very clean. Paved with ' wilderness' off shoots out you want more secluded trails with lots of shade. Good for hit summer as there are several water station at end of trail and a couple off creeks where dogs can take a dip to cool off.
Just wish more people would clean up after their pets. Probably better clean up effort of they put a couple more trash cans.

Eureka Trail

Stay in shape during the winter.

I walked the entire trail to New Englewood Road & back on a Monday afternoon. Did not encounter any other trail traffic, not even a stray dog. The trail surface was well maintained and easy to walk. It had been recently dragged with a box blade.
