Brushy Creek Regional Trail

Brushy Creek - Biking

April, 2018 by asphaltman1992

I absolutely love this trail! I used to live directly on the trail-path, and I would ride my bike on the trail daily. I recently moved, so I cant ride it as often as I used to, but let me tell you, I do every chance I get!

The main trail has many trail paths (off the main path) that allow you to enjoy a rugged (mountain bike experience), but it also features a great concrete (Main Trail), with some areas being crushed stone; which allow you to speed ride comfortable.

The scenery is what originally got me! Some areas are wooded, with a creek running beside you, and some areas have a lake, parks, bridges; its quite the outdoor experience.

This trail is a must ride, if you haven't already!

Salado Creek Greenway

It was great ride to do from ljb spot. I went left for about 5 miles and then back past along the boardwalk for another 7 miles. It was awesome workout.

Buffalo Bayou Trail

love it

It’s a great challenge for me when I feel like rollerblading over biking. Yes. I’m one of those crazies that enjoy both modes of recreational mobility. My only complaint would be it gets crowded, so you’re bound to run into either those biking snobs or those rollerblading snobs. Idk why either camp thinks they look cool. We look like idiots lol let’s just get along! Trail was a blast though. And this app makes it a lot easier to know how to get back to your car.

Mesquite Heritage Trail

We had a great time.

The path is smooth with great gentle inclines/descents. Beautiful scenery along the way even though it’s in town. There’s a couple of busy crossings, but it’s doable.

Glendale Park Trail

I love this trail! Its just the right length for me and I can see from one side to the other. The people I meet are friendly. Many have been walking this trail for years, I always feel safe on this trail.

Cottonwood Trail

didn’t feel safe

Used to riding the White Rock Creek Trail and wanted to try this trail. Unfortunately didn’t feel safe for a woman riding alone. Disappointing.

Fort Worth Branch (Trinity River Trails)

Rockwood Park Dr trailhead

March, 2018 by nursebahar-67

heads up! this trail along the Trinity to Airspace Falls is mostly gravel, so if you're riding a road bike - can be a bit more challenging! The serenity at the Falls made the trip worth it for me! :)

Denton Branch Rail Trail

Great find!

March, 2018 by choirmom_tl

Having moved to North Dallas from South Dallas, I have been hard pressed to find some nice trails. This trail does not disappoint. There are frequent crossings that can be tricky. What is nice is that there are areas one can veer off for more challenging biking up hills. There are beautiful neighborhoods throughout. I will look forward to taking this trail again.
4 stars because at times the trail feels a little unsafe and remote from a female perspective.

Lanana Creek Trail

My favorite trail

Anytime I’m in nac, I like to go walking/running this trail. You can go all the way from the Hoya soccer fields to almost Kroger on university (one of the sfa buildings you can see Kroger from).

Historic Battlefield Trail

Not very scenic

February, 2018 by themnmoores

We just returned from a trip the South Padre Island this February. One windy day we ventured into Brownsville to ride this trail as it was supposed to be warmer and less windy in Brownsville that day. Warmer yes, less windy no. We started in town and rode towards the battle field into a 20-30 MPH wind. Not much for wind protection on this trail. After being a bit convoluted getting through the first couple of miles the trail basically runs through the housing areas of Brownsville on a greenway corridor. There is some water, but overall not a very scenic ride. Glad we went in to ride it but we would not take the couple of hour drive time from South Padre Island in the future. BTW, I am not rating the trail based on the wind that day as those things happen and are not the trails fault.

Brays Bayou Greenway Trail

Great Trail Through Southside of Houston

February, 2018 by slistc

New to Houston and have not found many trails for road bikers. This one is great, and will be even more so once all upgrades are completed. (Feb 25, 2018) - while a few spots take some navigating due to trail construction and/or need to pick up the trail on the other side, the path is wide and well maintained. Today, runoff had left a few wet/muddy spots - which left a skunk mark on my back, but that just proves I had fun. I hope future plans include signage to let trail users know what street, sights, and amenities are near each underpass.
