Lewisville Hike and Bike Trail Description

Currently, the Lewisville Hike and Bike Trail spans 3.3 miles between Hebron Station and Mill Street in Old Town. Bordered by Lewisville Lake, the community is a recreational hub in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Construction is underway to double the trail’s length; it will continue north from the Old Town Station on East Main Street to the Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station on Garden Ridge Boulevard. When complete, expected by late 2016, the trail will total 6.6 miles.

The trail is part of the A-train rail trail project, a rail-with-trail network along an active commuter line run by the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA). Another trail in the network is the Denton Branch Rail Trail, which spans about 8 miles from Swisher Road in Lake Dallas to the Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC).

The final phase in the trail network will connect the Lewisville Hike and Bike Trail and Denton Branch Rail Trail, a gap of about 3.5 miles between the two trails. This future connector will cross Lewisville Lake as part of an Interstate 35E expansion.

Parking and Trail Access

As the trail runs to Hebron Station (952 Lakeside Circle), you can take a Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) train to reach it.
