Little Calumet River Levee Trail stretches from Munster to Gary, Indiana. The trail zigs and zags through a number of local parks including Riverside Park, Wicker Memorial Park, Homestead Park, Carlson Oxbow Park, and North Gleason Park. Most of the trail is off-road but there are some short on-road sections. It connects to the 17-mile Erie Lackawanna Trail at its west terminal.
Homestead Park (8099 5th St, Highland) has ample parking while Riverside Park's (along River Drive in Hammond) parking is limited. You can also check out Wicker Memorial (8554 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland ) and Gleason Park (3400 Jefferson Street, Gary).
