Parking is available at the northern end of the trail at the end of Lye Brook Access Road. The trailhead is located to the east of the parking lot.
Very rocky trail. It's labeled moderate but should be moderate/difficult. The trail is through woods with limited views. The Falls are impressively highland nice. I'm glad we went but wouldn't do it again.
Nice 4 plus mile hike for someone 72. Friendly people on the trail and neat falls. Would consider it moderate.
I grew up in Southern Vermont but never tried this trail because I didn't have a car when I was a teenager. The hike is a steady and moderate uphill walk on a well maintained trail with roots and rocks underfoot. The trail is well marked and ends at a beautiful natural waterfall — more serene than spectacular. I recommend applying insect spray before you set out because you will be in the woods and near standing water. Good photo opportunity at the end of the trail when you get to the falls. NOTE: you will cross a wide clearing with a rock fall about 100 yards before reaching the falls. Do not mistake this for the end of the trail. Keeping going until you hear water flowing.
We are in good shape, exercise regularly and had no idea of the difficulty. The path was mostly rocky and seemed all up or down hill, difficult to walk. Took nearly 3 hours round trip and we were not thrilled with the actual falls. People on the trail very friendly and helpful, especially the young woman who helped me cross the water. I am 66 years young and now have sore feet! Glad I finished the hike, thought of quitting several times but my partner never wavered. Would recommend for younger folks than me or those who have move time and can rest along the way.
Loved this trail! If you like a hike that is not too easy but not too tough, then this one is for you! Definately a good workout getting to the falls, but it is so worth the hike when you get there. You can sit and relax on the rocks by the falls and fuel up for your walk back to the car. The scenery is also beautiful. I enjoyed it very much and hopefully you will too. Enjoy!
He hiked it today, 6 miles total , there and back to parking lot.
Trail was super rocky, not too steep. Through woods only, no views at all.
The falls were beautiful.
Bottom line, a long way to hike for an ok experience.
A good hike, some hill but not a lot. Good footing for most of the trail, and wide enough most of the time to walk two abreast. The falls at the end were amazing. about 2.2/2.3 miles to the falls then back track the way you came to get back to your car.
